Undersubscribed and with a range of challenges to overcome, Browney Academy is a wonderful example of how the Trust model can bring about rapid transformation. A small primary on the outskirts of Durham city, as the custodian of an ageing building and with a stubbornly low intake, Browney needed to change its approach in a range of key areas.

It is now thriving having significantly improved progress and outcomes and boosting its pupil intake by well over 200% (from 72 to 160) securing it a place as a coveted first choice school within the local area.
