Congratulations to our fantastic chair, Maggie Saxton, who received her OBE from Princess Anne at Windsor Castle yesterday.
Maggie's OBE for her services to education was announced earlier this year in her late Majesty the Queen's New Years honours list.
Maggie joined our Trust’s founding school, The Academy at Shotton Hall, in 1986 and took over as Chair of NELT in 2016. She was also integral in setting up the Apollo Trust in 2013 and is chair of their governing body. Maggie has dedicated her career to ensuring that children get equal access to the best education and her extensive knowledge and experience is a huge asset to our Trust.
Maggie reports back to us that she was absolutely thrilled to attend the ceremony and in particular, to find herself and her family sitting beside the Prince and Princess of Wales for dinner in the local pub afterwards! Quite the end to a fantastic day - congratulations Maggie for this much-deserved award and recognition of your amazing work!
