Careers with NELT
Join a winning team
With unrivalled personal support and progression opportunities across our ambitious Trust, a career with NELT is an investment in your future. Our Trust is successful because of our staff and we are never satisfied with being just good enough. We see ourselves as leaders in training and look for innovative ways to provide CPD as well as developmental and leadership opportunities for staff. At the core of this is an extensive CPD offer which is shared across our teaching school alliance. Colleagues in Trust schools are able to access these core opportunities as well as contributing and sharing their own best practice to enhance staff development across the whole Trust. As we grow, these opportunities will increase across the Trust in line with a vision of offering clear developmental and leadership pathways for staff from ITT to headship
I was able to quickly access free medical support when I needed it thanks to the support package offered by NELT.

Leadership and progression opportunities
As a Trust, we are focussed on growing and nurturing our own talent, with clear pathways running from teacher training all the way through to headship and Trust leadership. Recognising and rewarding talent and commitment is a cornerstone of who we are and is a key reason why we recruit and retain some of the most talented teaching and non-teaching professionals in the region.
Many NELT staff have been supported and funded to undertake their masters degree in education with Newcastle University. There are also opportunities for exceptional staff to join our growing list of now almost 30 SLEs and take part in support projects across our Trust and Alliance.
In addition, staff can be involved in the Trust’s SCITT, either as mentors to new trainees or for classroom training and observations.
