Ashington Academy

Ashington Academy joined the North East Learning Trust in September 2017 where it embarked on a journey of improvement which has seen significant investment in the school infrastructure as well as rapid improvements across all aspects of teaching and learning. 

Thanks to the pace of progress and change the main school is oversubscribed and the number of students choosing to continue their education with the school's sixth form has increased dramatically. In their latest 2022 Ofsted inspection Ashington moved from 'inadequate' to 'good' in all areas - a remarkable transformation and much deserved by staff who truly embraced their improvement journey
